Tata Consumer – A Global Story?

Tata Consumer acquired a number of companies in the US, UK and Africa, for which they were criticized for over a decade. There were valid reasons for the same, they were not able to digest the rapid acquisitions and had a number of issues getting those companies to profitability.

The recent annual report gives a good feeling about the company’s global operations. They have Tetley in UK, a leader, an award winner, Eight O’clock and Goodearth in the US, again with almost 12000 five star reviews on Amazon.

Their overall numbers also look very good, with the merger of the Tata Chemicals food business. This indeed looks like a global consumer FMCG giant in the making.

One response to “Tata Consumer – A Global Story?”

  1. This is a pretty good insight. I read it as a case of a sleeping giant woken up during this COVID. And then they have woken up with a vociferous appetite to take on any competition to make a mark and catch up on the lost grounds. Most of their brands are a market leader in their segment. This is a good time to get into this company.
